Vienna Art De Vivre
This is the pioneer among private dining in Vienna: TheDiningRoom. It has been around long enough to earn international credits as a foodie insider tip. If you want to give downtown Schnitzel chefs a break, come here.
Set in a beautiful town house in the fine suburb of Hietzing, chef Angelika Apfelthaler celebrates Vienna Art De Vivre. Viennese love Italian food. So Angelika cooks up mediterranean specialities for whoever comes to her place.
Private Dining in Vienna: The Dining Room. The beautifully decorated eating space, kitchen and terrace are unmistakably Southern European. Angelika has built up an incredible expertise in all things Mediterranean over the years. First, you see it, then you taste it.
The 6-course gourmet dinners each carry a theme, like for example the Piemontese Dinner that was inspired by Angelika’s culinary journey to this part of Northern Italy.
Every fortnight, Angelika comes up with a different themed menu for her dinners, which take place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm.
Private Dining in Vienna: The Dining Room. The kitchen is open and right next to the eating space, so you can grab the opportunity to sneak into a private Viennese kitchen and have a chat with Angelika. Many travellers have asked me for opportunities to dine in a local Viennese’s home – here it is!
You are also likely to meet other international visitors, which mix up the group of local foodies. The restaurant has been included in the New York Times’ Top 10 of the “World’s Best Secret Dining Clubs”.
Cook Books And Cooking Classes
Angelika has published her own coffeetable book – The Dining Room – A House, A Dream, A Restaurant that includes not only Angelika’s favourite Mediterranean recipes but her personal story of setting up her dream business. An English language complementary booklet is available at theDiningRoom for EUR 49,90 or can be ordered via email at email@example.com
Since 2014, Angelika also offers private cooking classes in German and English.
