Vienna Pictures: Slideshow Collections for Travel Inspiration

Vienna Pictures

I have taken thousands of pictures of my home city. Most of them are scattered across this site. If you want a dense impression of Vienna, access my top three slideshow collections. Click on the headlines below and enjoy the show!

Landmarks and Buildings

This photo gallery collects some of the finest pieces of Viennese architecture and prominent landmark buildings, such as St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom), the Secession, Jugendstil houses designed by Otto Wagner, key buildings along the Ringstrasse, and a few of my favourites of the baroque period in Vienna. It is growing consistently as I add new pictures.

Palaces

The city is scattered with beautiful palaces of the Habsburgs and aristocratic families. Nowadays, many of them are used to house public administration, such as Trautson Palace (Minstiry of Justice) or the baroque palace used by the Higher Administrative Court (the former Bohemian Court Registry) on Judenplatz. You will see key palaces in this gallery: from the Imperial Palace (Hofburg) and Schonbrunn Palace to the Belvedere Vienna, the Liechtenstein Palace, the Augarten Palace to Kinski Palace.

Local Opera Houses and Concert Halls

This gallery includes Vienna pictures of our main opera houses and concert halls for classical and contemporary music: The Vienna Opera House, the Theater an der Wien, the Musikverein (home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), and the Konzerthaus. These classical venues are all landmarks themselves. I can highly recommend the Vienna Opera tour, which will show you places inside the Opera that are usually not accessible to opera attendees.
