Vienna tours: segway tour

Vienna Tours Segway: My favourite segway tours in Wien

Vienna tours by Segway are perfect if you love to try out new things, or hone your segway skills. You can segway either through the city centre, the Vienna Prater, or the Danube Island. The tours are usually small and tour guides make sure everyone is safe and comfortable with the Segway after an initial 20 minutes of training. This is all that is needed.

Vienna City Segway Tour

Vienna segway tour review: group at HeldenplatzVienna Tours Segway. Four men, two women, a 12-year old. And none of them had stood on a Segway before. This was bound to be fun. 15 minutes after an initial introduction and a few tentative moves, we moved on to our first site, the Imperial Palace. Another 10 minutes later, I was able to not only master the edges of pavements but also stand still on my Segway while listening to the tour guide.

The tour itself covers the Vienna classics, with lots of historical references and a few anecdotes. The Imperial Palace, passing the Spanish Riding School along the Ring boulevard to the Parliament, Burgtheater, the University, then along to Freyung, Am Hof, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, passing the old city until the Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art, the Stadtpark, the Vienna Konzerthaus concert hall, Church of St. Charles Borromeo, and back.

Vienna Prater Tour

Vienna Tours Segway. If you prefer a nature trail, take a Segway tour through the lush meadows and woodlands of the Vienna Prater. I booked this tour with my 13 year old nephew. We cruised all the way along the Prater Boulevard to Lusthaus Pavilion. He loved it!

Make sure you get a proper introduction if you have never stood on a Segway before. I recommend this tour for experienced Segway drivers. There were no helmets provided when we took the tour.
