Note: The largest Vienna train stations are being transformed and modernised to further facilitate train connections between North/South and West/East, and comfortable train travel in Vienna. Due to the increasing number of trains to Vienna, both of the main Vienna train stations are being transformed. While the Southern rail route (Südbahn) now ends in Wien Meidling instead of the Main Railway station (Hauptbahnhof), the Eastern rail route (Ostbahn) going into the Main Railway station is maintaining its service a few hundred metres from the original terminal.
